Weekend

CLUB: COURTESY
Gay club Backdoor is celebrating its first anniversary, and there’s a special line-up coming into town to celebrate. Danish DJ Courtesy has been one of Europe’s most celebrated over the last couple of years, with sets that tumble though her encyclopaedic knowledge of all things electronic, EBM and techno. She’s on the Marble floor with God69, Love Frank Otto and Backsound, and Osignat take over the other floor.

Sep 1, 22:00-05:00, Arenavägen 75

GIG: POPAGANDA EFTERFEST
Look Popaganda is the festival, you know what it’s about. So our tip this year is to check out the festival’s afterparties at Nobelberget. Shout Out Louds, Vulkano and Junior Brielle play on Friday with Lorentz, JOY and AMWIN on Saturday. Free busses go from the festival area to Nobelberget.

Aug 31, Sep 1, 23:00-04:00, Nobelberget

CLUB: JESSIE GRANQVIST/ FARREL
Sad but true, there aren’t so many chances to go to Trädgården left this summer. So it might be time to see Esperanto’s Jessie Granqvist and Ääniwalli’s Farrél take over the dancefloor this weekend.

Sep 1, 22:00-03:00, Trädgården

FILM: OFFRET
Andrei Tarkovsky’s The Sacrifice was his last film, shot in Sweden. Erland Josephson, a frequent Ingmar Bergman collaborator took the lead role, which means it qualifies for Dramten’s current Bergmanfestival. The Grand Prix-winning film will be shown as part of the festival at Elverket on Sunday.

Sep 2, 18:15-20:15, Dramaten

EXHIBITION: DRONE DANCING
2047 is probably not a year you’ve given a great deal of thought to, but the people behind the Drone Dancing concept have. Somewhere between an exhibition, art project and interactive theme park, it aims to explore the future of mankind (or maybe the future sans mankind), bringing forth visions of the year 2047 (chosen because it’s beyond our current imaginations but within our lifetimes) through art, technology and discussion and interactive events. Multiple artists have created pieces that show, or explore, their vision of what the future might be. It’s coming to Färgfabriken in exhibition from Aug 31 and we spoke to Björn Wurmbach, in charge of Drone Dancing’s ‘Ideas And Realisation’, to find out more, and you can read that here.
