Stina Eidem is undoubtedly most recognised for her work as a political cartoonist but in this exhibition the political animals are disregarded in favour of the more authentic kind. Studio L2’s latest installation showcases Eidem’s ability to capture the spirit and characters of birds and wildlife through minimal brushstrokes of vivid colour. In stark contrast to her austere caricatures for publications such as Dagens Nyheter, this exhibition is filled with delicate watercolours that seem full of life in spite of their apparent simplicity.
Eidem is generally considered an artist that disregards many of the archetypes of classical watercolours and this is the perfect opportunity to get up close to some examples of her inimitable style.
This exhibition is on display at Studio L2 from February 8th to March 5th.
