New Music: Milano Sun’s “El Dorado” Shines Pure Gold

Milano Sun’s name is taken from, wait, wait for it… you’ll never guess, the city of Milan, where the band’s original three members (Johan Jonasson, Love Sivik and David Axelsson) found themselves on a road trip a few years back. As part of that trip, they challenged themselves to write a song in each city, and in Milan the song Milano Sun, and a name for the band, was born. After releasing an EP in 2013, the band returned earlier this year boosted to a four-piece with the addition of Zackarias Ekelund, and a new single, Boomarang. And now they’ve got another, Eldorado.

Despite it being released deep in the guts of November, Eldorado practically shines with summer. It’s a gleaming bright pop song, a snappy, finger-clicking cocktail of swooning melodies and dreamy warmth. It’s out now on VÅRØ as a double A-side single, backed with the ballad Romeo & Juliet. Milano Sun are due to release a full-length album in 2018, and in the meantime check out Eldorado below.
