Nextdoor

After establishing itself in countries around the world over a number of years now, the neighbourhood and community app Nextdoor is now landing in Sweden. The app’s pitch is pretty simple – think of it as a kind of localised Facebook. Instead of posts from your friends, it’s posts from people in your neighbourhood (the app requires people to register under their real names and provide proof of address), and the topics can include everything from looking for a babysitter to wanting to borrow a lawnmower.

Nextdoor have commissioned a survey that shows that 52% of respondents in Sweden would like better contact with their neighbours, and 81% are willing to spend time lending a hand to their neighbours if asked. Those figures mean the company feel they can be a success in the country.

The app can be downloaded from se.nextdoor.com
