One night, he was just there. As if from nowhere, he stepped right into our world from a shimmering cloud of stars and soft pink smoke. Some claim he is a former pilot who crashed and landed uninvited at an afterparty – others say he’s just an illusion, a magic trick performed flawlessly.
We’re talking of course about The Magician, or rather the Belgian producer and DJ, Stephen Fasano. Former band member in the Balearic disco duo Aeroplane – the aircraft in which he got off in 2010 to board his own magic flying carpet.
He released his debut single I Do not Know What To Do on Kitsune in 2011 and after that he collaborated with Peter (Yusek) on three subsequent EPs ( Twist, Memory and On My Brain). But people know The Magician for his brilliant remixes. In particular, his remix of Lykke Li’s I Follow Rivers, which topped the charts around the whole of Europe, and has millions of plays on YouTube.
He enchants us with its magical mixtapes with the latest and best music on Soundcloud including the ace up his sleeve – EP When The Night Is Over which was released on Parlophone fall.
We promise a magical dance floor when it is time for Stockholm to mesmerize The Magician yet again.
MONITOR 66 (23:00)
Monitor 66 plays and produces music that can be described in one sentence – “music for sunsets.” Currently, they have released a bunch of remixes that have received considerable attention within nu-disco/deep house genre and their self-produced summer hit Triscuits, which also has had great global support and has been played by big names such as Aeroplane and The Magician.
These two friends have now begun to spread their manifesto globally and has played at some of the hottest clubs around Europe and the world. They are constantly working on new and exciting originals and remixes, including their first solo EP to be released early this summer at House of Disco Records. If you have not heard of them yet, it’s only a matter of time before you will.
