Hilma Af Klint exhibition at Moderna Museet in Stockholm

Hilma af KlintBefore her death Swedish artist Hilma Af Klint created over 1000 paintings, watercolors and sketches. Her spiritual beliefs inspired large, dreamy, magical paintings.

In her will, she requested that her pioneering work would not be displayed publicly until twenty years after her burial, only then – she believe – would people be ready to fully understand their meaning.

Moderna Museet’s retrospective exhibition presents about 200 pieces of Af Klint’s most  important abstract works as well as paintings. Some of which has never been publicly exhibited before.

Open until the end of May the retrospective features one of the very first abstract painters – a woman who is considered by many as a visionary comparable to the great Kandinsky.

Why not find out what all the fuss is over?
