Club Ouch

The tropical bass Klubb OUCH! is currently spreading sunny heat at Södra Teatern. This spring we’ll see them on March 22 with ANBULEY live on stage, on April 17 and again at Dans Dakar at the end of May.

We asked Thomas Antonsson, one of the leading men behind the club and one of the DJ’s behind Panik Disco, a few questions.

Tell us a bit more about yourself.

My name is Thomas Antonsson, I’m 33 years old, living in the southern part of Stockholm with my wife and son. I am a second year student taking my masters degree in History and before that I studied to become a teacher. I am one of three organizers of the OUCH! club at Södra Teatern in Stockholm.

What do you do when you aren’t clubbing?

I mostly hang out with my family, playing with my son, spending quality time with my wonderful wife. We really like to travel, so that is what we do with our money. When I do go out I usually visit some quiet bar that has a good range of beers with my friends, and of course I have to study a bit as well.

What is Ouch! and what is Panik Disco?

Panik Disco is the name of our DJ trio. It’s me, Ola Jönsson and Daniel Osowski also known as Pålacken. We have been DJing since the 90s in different combinations, and Daniel and I have been organizing clubs here together for more than ten years. OUCH! is the name of our new club at Södra Teatern with the aim to spread the Tropical Bass genre.

What do you like the most about Stockholm?

I like the fact that Stockholm really has a pulse and you can get the best of two worlds. If you like silence then you can get that and if you like stress you can get that too. I really like this combination because I don’t want to live in the centre of Stockholm but I want to be able to go there in no time. I love the cultural pulse of Stockholm.

How can Stockholm improve?

I think we need to get more open-minded regarding different cultures and be more open to different things outside our comfort zone. Communication is key here. I love the fact that a lot of Stockholm is open-minded about a great deal of stuff but I would like to see that get better.

Any spectacular plans for the future?

Wow! Well… just continue to be as happy as I am with my family. And we really want our club to explode so that is one of my main plans, to make that happen. Also, to DJ more outside Sweden with Panik Disco. All of this stuff makes me happy so I guess the main goal for me is to stay happy.
