On top (and bottom) of the world

When chef Pontus Frithiof launched Atelier 23 back in September, he envisioned a slightly different eating experience without ordinary opening hours. Instead, all gastronomy revolves around preset themes and collaborations.

Atelier 23 comprises of six spaces, all of which are located on the 23rd floor of daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter’s highrise tower block. The Dining Room offers panoramic views of the city, while The Kitchen invites guests to partake in the preparing of foods. The four remaining rooms are dedicated to events and meetings.

In the same building, 23 storeys below, another Frithiof project has been taking shape. A modern-day Swedish canteen named Tidningshuset by Pontus serves up seasonal and healthy lunches, while there’s also a deli and bakery at hand for breakfast, ‘fika’, lighter lunches and take-away evening meals for all those other culinary needs throughout the day.
