Weekend

GIG: LEON
When we caught up with LÉON three years ago, Lotta Lindgren was in the baby steps of her career, having earned her first round of media attention with her 2015 EP Tired Of Talking. Three years later, she’s now dropped her debut self-titled album, already given a big boost about the success of the propulsive pop of lead single You And I. She doesn’t play in Sweden very often these days, but you can catch her at Kägelbanan this weekend.

Mar 30, 20:00-03:00, Kägelbanan

MARKET: FÄRGFABRIKENS VÅRMARKNAD
As another spring draws near (though looking at the snow and slask outside the window right now makes that feel a distant prospect), it’s time to get ready for one of the season’s trademark events. Färgfabriken’s annual Vårmarknad will be returning in March, with its usual mix of design and handcrafted items for sale, live music, coffee, brunch and more. Hopefully by the time it rolls around there’ll be a little sun to enjoy too.

CLUB: KONTAKT
Club night KONTAKT kicked off as summer melted into winter last year, and after a couple of successful rounds their fourth edition is due for March. And they’ve got something special planned. They’re taking over Berns, and as headliner they’ve booked Russian DJ superstar Nina Kraviz. The techno icon routinely plays to thousands around the world, and she’ll be doing the same at the 5-hour party in March. Joining Kraviz on the line-up is a wide range of local talent, with DJ Clea (Hot Haus Rec), Miss Dilemma (Swedish Techno), Linny Hex (Kvalia Rec), Johanna Beckman and COBRAH all booked. Tickets start at 375kr.

Mar 30, 00:00-05:00, Berns

FILM: ARAF
Moderna Museet’s film club returns this weekend, with the Turkey/Greece/Bosnia & Herzegovina-originating film Araf, by Didem Pekün, which follows the story of Nayia, who returns to Bosnia after exile following the Balkan Wars. Her story merges thematically with the myth of Daedalus and Icarus. The film is followed by a discussion between Pekün and KKH professor Petra Bauer.

FASHION: RODEBJER SAMPLE SALE
Fashion brand Rodebjer is one of the city’s favourites, and visitors will have the chance to dip back into their catalogue from this weekend when they kick off a sample sale. They’re taking over Venue 81 on Drottningatan from Sunday and and selling off pieces from old collections, as well as newer selected pieces from pre/Spring and Spring/Summer 2019. The sale is open between 14:00 and 20:00 on Sunday as well as between 07:00 and 20:00 on Monday and Tuesday.
