Spain On Film: Spanska Filmfestivalen Opens At Kulturhuset

Posted December 6, 2017 in More

Spanish film stretches further than the adventures of Pedro Almodóvar. And you’ll have the chance to see just how much further this December, as Klarabiografen at Kulturhuset hosts the eight Stockholm Spanish FilmFestival, organised by the culture institute Instituto Cervantes. The festival focuses on the best of new Spanish film, and one of the highlights is El jugador de ajedrez (The Chess Player). Directed by Luis Olivero, the film tells the story of Diego Padilla, a master chess player captured by the Nazis, who in prison comes to the attention of Maier, the chess-obsessed prison commander. The Stockholm Spanish Film Festival runs between December 6 and 10.
