Shellac is THE BAND. Now a cult band that year after year shows exactly why they are one of the most important names in indie rock. Wild, explosive and sharp shows Chicago band that they are still legends in stark and shattering hardcore punk.
For the first time in seven years is Shellac current with a new album, “Dude Incredible”, which was released in September this year. The album is the fifth in Steve Albini and comp anise careers and was greeted immediately by good grades including from Pitchfork gave the album 8/10.
Shellac was formed when Bob Weston moved to Chicago and joined drummer Todd Trainer and guitarist Steve Albini in 1992 they played their first show in Chicago in 1993 and has done a lot since then. Steve Albini estimates that he himself experienced and recorded around 1500 albums, including Nirvana, Pixies, The Breeders, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Helmet, Chevelle, Robert Plant, Fred Schneider, The Stooges, Mogwai, The Jesus Lizard to name a few.
