“Bring your friends, bring your dog, bring anyone because when we play we’re all a big family!”

This is how Kurt Uhrig, legendary bassist for up-and-coming punk/rock band Ruin the Legend, promotes their next gig at Broder Tuck on May 18.

For those unfamiliar with your music who are you?

Ruin The Legend is a band made of people from all over the world, I am from Canada, Tony (Singer) from England, Johnny (drummer) from Sweden, Kenny and Mattias (guitarists) from Sweden. We started out johnny and I  looking to create a unique punk band and to create a new sound! Later Kenny had joined followed by Mattias and Tony. Ruin the Legend is band about a message and a band about playing true punk music, a band that stands against  modern-day cooperate corruption,and a societally that makes people think they are forced to live a lifestyle outside of their living needs.

What are your influences ?

We come from all sorts of music back grounds from Skate Punk, hardcore, Grundge Punk,  Metal. I  think we all love music that is good and that is creative with a purpose. Music that comes from the heart ! Some of our influences I would say are bands such as Propagandhi, Pennywise, Parkway drive, Gallows.

You play a gig on May 18. Are you excited?

We are really looking forward to see what people think and how they react towards our music ! Hopefully see everyone in the pit !

Do your get nervous performing in front of an audience ?

I think everyone gets nervous before a gig, it’s really what I look forward to, the excitement, the anticipation, the butterflies just before stepping on stage. I think we expect to have a great time, and to enjoy every minute of it! and especially to share our love and passion with everyone in the audience!

What can your fans expect to see ?

I think our fans can expect to see a powerful  energetic show. They will see a strong punk band with a good new sound and style. A band that sings and plays music from the heart and a band that truly loves punk music !
