OktoberFuzz

octoberfuzzNow that summer is over and the evenings are getting darker, what could be better than a one-day mini-Woodstock in the heart of Hägersten? Oktoberfuzz is a fresh festival that leaves behind summer mud and smelly tents, embracing instead an old neighbourhood market and turning it into the hottest music venue in Southern Stockholm; namely Melodybox – the home of Ring Ring Ring and other successful clubs. Now it’s time for some riff-based rock with a little ping-pong on the side, played whilst sipping cheap canned beer.

“Oktoberfuzz is a festival for those who think the late 60’s and early 70’s had something special to bring to music, and who think that the best bands today are those drawing their inspiration from this musical era,” says organizer Peter Pedersen, an avid record collector, guitar player and fuzzbox enthusiast.

“I happened to come across a cool venue that is perfect for this kind of event, and at the same time there’s been a great scene developing in Stockholm for bands playing fuzz-oriented retro rock.”

Among the names performing are Glasson, Trilobit, Katla, Me and My Kites, Amaxa, Å and Sideburn.
