Haruko Maeda

Posted October 31, 2012 in Arts

Japanese artist Haruko Maeda has lived and worked in Austria since 2005. Influenced by the traditions in both countries, she combines Shintoist and Roman Catholic traditions in her artwork.

The detailed depictions of bones, organs, gems and plants raises questions about existence and the presence of death in everyday life. Maeda’s first solo exhibition runs until November 11 at the Christian Larsson Gallery.
