In the wake of all the grass-fed beef and pulled pork, poultry is having a moment on Stockholm’s restaurant scene. Check out all-new Chicken Bar in Kungsholmen, where whole, half or quarter-sized coal-grilled organic chickens are on offer.
Hot wings, buttermilk fried chicken, chicken tacos, duck confit and grilled duck heart are all dishes featured on the menu at Bird in the Östermalm neighbourhood, complimented by a beverage selection that includes micro brews, cocktails and cava.
Turkey also deserves its 15 minutes of fame, and purveyor Ingelsta Kalkon is the place to go for a taste of the quirky-looking bird. A special lunch offer – a grill plate featuring oven-grilled turkey – is available between 1100 and 1400 on Thursdays and Fridays.
