Trädgården

Trädgården is already home to their Naturbaren. And if you’ll forgive this woefully clunky segue, nature is coming to the venue in a different way soon. They’ve announced a new collaboration with Nationalmuseum, that will see paintings from the museum’s collection projected onto the walls of the popular club. The paintings chosen are works of landscape and nature, works that explore how we interact with the natural world around up. Projected up on the columns of Skanstullbron that dominate Trädgården, the idea is that the project will make art accessible to more people by building it into a new environment, and help some of the museum’s treasures reach an audience that might have been in the dark about them before now.

“Nationalmuseum is one of Sweden’s most interesting museums, which continually and actively works to breathe life into its connections with an accessibility that fits well with our goals here at Trädgården. With this collaboration, we want to be able to offer the thousands of visitors who come to Trädgården every week a visual experience in the form of world-class art, and hopefully provoke interest, ideas and reflections in our guests that will lead them to further investigate the artistic treasures we have in this country”, says Emma Weinerhall, head of marketing at Trädgården.

The projections will make their debut this weekend at Gränslandet festival. Trädgården’s collaborations with Nationalmuseum are set to continue, with the venue also acting as the after-party hosts for the opening of the museum’s new exhibition 1989 – Kultur och politik.
