Sarah Assbring, aka El Perro Del Mar, last surfaced musically with 2016’s album KoKoro, a fascinating blitz of colourful pop that we spoke to her about in a long interview at the time. Now she’s back with a kind of follow-up to that record, We Are History, an EP that functions as the dark, heavy response to KoKoro’s brightness. But though the sound changes, El Perro Del Mar’s quality remains: the new EP has already bagged great reviews across the board. In April she’s part of a unique concert experience, as she puts on a double-gig at Dramaten with Irish singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan and her chamber orchestra The Colorist Orchestra at Drameten.
