People getting into the Christmas spirit are getting a new place to hang out this weekend. Obviously, Christmas Market season is in full flow these days, and it’s getting difficult to walk down the street without someone trying to sell you a hand-carved wooden candle-holder and some glögg. But Söderhallarna are opening up one that’s got something a little different. Namely, in that it’s being held ten stories above Södermalm.

The Söderhallarna Julmarknad will be held on the Söderhallarna roof at Medborgplatsen between Dec 15 & 17, and feature many of Söderhallarna’s best-loved eateries. Södercheesen will be selling Stilton and other cheese, P&B Delikatesser will offer chocolates and other treats and Melanders Fisk will have herring and smoked salmon on sale. Bun Meat Bun will be on-site offering burgers and glögg, and if anyone’s looking for a late Xmas gift, Natur & Kultur will be selling their cookbooks and organising autograph sessions with the authors. There will also be a number of other stalls selling Christmas goodies, potential gifts and more. Music comes from DJs Sotarn med vänner, Choco Canel and Pontus de Wolfe.

Jennipher Bergqvist of Söderhallarna’s parent company Atrium Ljungberg says: “It feels unbelievably fun to be able to offer a modern Christmas market where one can eat and buy good food and buy Christmas presents, while at the same time listening to great music and enjoying a pleasant Christmas atmosphere”.

Söderhallarna’s Christmas Market is open between Dec 15-17, from 12:00-19:00 every day.
