Malin Elgán’s performance piece Definitions and Facts returns to Moderna Museet this August. Stockholm-based choreographer Elgán has a long history of pushing the boundaries of exploratory dance. Her latest show, Definitions and Facts, is an investigation of the relationship between choreography and documentation, and how this relationship affects the audience’s perception of the events before them. Elgán began work on the project began two years ago in New York, when she was artist in residence at the dance organisation Movement Research. She has been developing it since then, and now it’s ready for performance. It will explore dance, visibility and its relation to the exhibition space, with the dancers Polina Akhmetzyanova and Pär Andersson. Definitions and Facts is presented as part of the Moderna Museet’s ongoing Efter Babel exhibit.
