Plastic doesn’t necessarily equal inferior quality; that is a point that Galatea, a privately-owned importer and manufacturer of beers, alcohols and spirits has proven by packaging their organic vodka in a plastic PET-bottle due to the environmental rewards.
This year sees the redesign on the award-winning Good Ol’ Sailor vodka. While Martin Brodén at Crossover Creative has worked on the bottle shape, an illustration designed by tattoo artist Malin Thulin of King Carlos tattoo studio covers the transparent bottle.
“[My design features] a mysterious city where the sailor lands. My thoughts were on old, fine sailors and all the great tattoo studios that started popping up in Nyhavn in Denmark at the end of the 17th century,” says Thulin.
Good Ol’ Sailor is available at Systembolaget for 199 kronor.
