WHITE POPPY 21:30
Crystal Dorval’s one-man project, White Poppy, from Vancouver represents the healing powers of music and art. She calls her music “experimental therapeutic pop” and even has a blog dedicated to solutions to mental illness.
With roots in shoegaze, White Poppy makes experimental and dreamy pop-rock where gossamer vocals and beautiful melodies are broken against a massive soundstage consisting of distortion, loops, reverb and discords. Crystal Dorval plays with opposites and everything blends harmoniously together.
After the album I Had A Dream 2012 she followed up with an eponymous self-produced album in autumn 2013, which is somewhat of a spellbinding trip through psychedelic sound and with an impressionistic style that leaves it open to interpretation.
THE HANGED MAN 20:30
The Hanged Man is a new solo project by Rebecka Rolfart, (formerly a part of Those Dancing Days), which emerged from the need to break up and shed her skin. Now, The Hanged Man to date with her first single and music video for the song First Time Dreaming.
