When listening to the multi-facetted band Tonbruket, it’s very difficult to pinpoint exactly what kind of music they’re playing. Is it jazz? Is it rock? Perhaps some kind of blues? Either way, it’s absolutely hypnotic and once you start listening, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. It’s psychedelic and very structured at the same time. A bunch of über-talented musicians, that’s for sure.

The band consists of Dan Berglund, Johan Lindström, Martin Hederos and Andreas Werliin. Dan and Johan met up with 2008 to write some songs, and the rest is basically history. To exemplify the talent that this band possesses, one might be surprised to find that they recorded their first album during five intense days in Haldern, Norway. They had just rehearsed on two occasions, and barely knew one another personally.

Their music probably takes place best live, so make sure you don’t miss them at the fashionable Fasching, Scandinavia’s most beloved jazz venue.
