A Christmassy meal doesn’t necessarily need to entail a buffet table filled with enough food to feed the army of a small country. A far more stomach-friendly – not to mention hip – alternative is to head to restaurant AG and try out their new ham sandwich, developed exclusively for the holiday season. Chef Johan Jureskog is using only Swedish rapeseed pork – meat from pigs that have had rapeseed oil added to their feed – which is meant to be juicier, more tender and tastier than regular pork.

“I’ve always loved Christmas ham, preferably on a piece of crisp bread with some suitable accompaniments. Now, I have the chance to develop my dream ham sandwich,” says Jureskog. The meal is best paired with a beer that Södra Maltfabriken, a micro brewery located just south of Stockholm, is developing especially for AG’s Christmas sandwich.
