Creating a new world record for the long jump with her leap from freezer-cold abstract synth work to a most jarring, almost ugly humanity on this new release, Halo is nothing if not brave. There are points during Quarantine where the nakedness of her foregrounded vocals make you want to turn away, red-faced, but its starkness is just too compelling. A divisive, difficult, but vital turn.
