Heading to Stockholm anytime soon? Make sure you make the most of your stay in the Scandi capital. But make sure you keep your personal belongings somewhere safe while strolling around town. Just like any other big city in the world you never know when someone’s out to get your money or credit card. Get the latest tips and information about this here.

Grab a Swedish fika
If you’ve ever heard of Sweden and Stockholm you’ve probably also heard of the famous “fika”. The meaning of fika is simply to sit down and have a cup of coffee (or two!) together with a little cookie or something else to satisfy your sweet tooth. You don’t have to walk long before you find a “fik” in Stockholm. Why not try a cinnamon bun while you’re at it!

Visit Gamla stan – Old Town
If you want to explore the old Stockholm you should make it to Gamla stan which basically means Old Town. This is the tiny island in the city where you can wander the streets where the buildings are hundreds of years old. Here you will be able to see the royal family’s palace as well as the Nobel Museum and Stockholm Cathedral.

Experience the famous gallery Fotografiska
Fotografiska is a famous gallery with artsy photographs. There is always a fascinating exhibition waiting on you and there’s a great gift shop as well.

Hang around Kungsträdgården
The King’s Garden – also known as “Kungsan” among the locals in Stockholm is worth a visit. Especially if you’re in the city during spring or summer when the pink wonderful cherry blossoms bloom. During winter there’s an ice rink instead where you can skate if you feel like it.

Go shopping the Scandi style
There are many famous Swedish brands and if you’re strolling around Stockholm you should definitely shop the Scandi style. Check out stores such as Monki, COS, Filippa K, Hope, Swedish Hasbeens and of course H&M.

History lesson at the Vasa Museum
Since Stockholm is a very old city you can be sure to find many different museums around town. Try to make it to the Vasa Museum if you’re visiting where you will be able to see the famous ship for yourself. The Vasa ship sank before it made it out of the harbour and a couple of hundred years later the ship was raised from the bottom and taken into the big museum.
