The weekend has finally arrived. Here’s a list of activities we recommend you check out over the coming few days.
Thursday
Östasiatiska Museet
With approximately 700 objects being exhibited, there is a lot to see and learn about Korea. The majority of the collection consists of ceramics. But besides that there are also painting, furniture and much more to admire.
Part of the exhibit was donated by Scandinavian doctors, but another interesting element are the royal artifacts. Enrich your understanding of Asian history by visiting this exhibition.
Friday
Lunch concert
Two days each week you can enjoy lunch while listening to a performance by soloists from the Royal Swedish Opera. They serve you a salad with bread, a soft drink and coffee. Go with your colleagues, family or friends. But don’t forget the music is just as important as a good conversation during this quirky lunchtime experience.
Petsounds
Petsounds manage to combine consistently delicious food and drink with good music making this location a popular destination for the after-work crowd. Enjoy a drink at the bar, chat with friends at a table or descend to the basement if you’re feeling adventurous.
Saturday
Islamic art
At the Islamic art exhibition you’ll find lots colorful and intricately decorated prints. The exhibition includes ceramics, textiles, glassware as well as metal and woodwork. Visitors will also learn about Muslim culture in Sweden, and the world.
The bar stays open seven days a week and contains a great seasonal cocktail menu. Feeling a little strapped for cash after Xmas? No problem, they also offer hefty discounts during happy hour. This Saturday DJ Pure P is playing for the first time since his sets in New York, Miami, Barcelona and London.
Sunday
Modern life – France in the 19th Century
Did you know that there were quite a few Swedish artists active in France in 1800? This exhibition examines social change in France during the last century, and how it influenced the art. Paintings, drawings, photographs and sculptures by Claude Monet, Emile Gallé, Berthe Morisot is being exhibited.
