It’s probably been a while since you thought about figurines right? Well, the artform has been making a comeback over the last few years, with Per B Sundberg at the forefront, having had an exhibition of his figurines at Andrehn-Schiptjenko in 2015. Now he’s teaming up with some big hitters for a new collection of figurines, releasing FÖREMÅL via IKEA, with a preview of the collection at Auktionsverket this week. Sundberg’s work will be exhibited along with the private collection of the culture profile Dennis Dahlqvist under the exhibition name ‘Pretty, Ugly, Lovely – figurinens återkomst’ between August 23 and 25.
“It will be an exciting clash to show FÖREMÅL and Dennis’ collection in an environment that is usually connected to fine art and high culture. It will be fun”, says Per B Sundberg.
The FÖREMÅL collection will later be available from 16 IKEA stores from September 7
