The 90s was the era of Britpop, but Jason Pierce’s Spiritualized stood out from that crowd for producing music more sprawling, creative and compelling than any of his louder-shouting contemporaries could lay a finger on. His mad, tragic, beautiful masterpiece Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space is one of the decade’s best records, but he continued to release music of high quality in the years after, up to and including last year’s And Nothing Hurt. He heads on tour this year, coming to Vasateatern in March.
