What is neoclassical music? Well, it’s something that sounds a lot like Nils Frahm. The German composer’s long, lush, delicate compositions are creatures of the kind of intricate attention to detail and sound obsessiveness that defined classical, built from modern electronica. His latest album, 2018’s All Melody, is proving to be his most popular yet, a sign of which is that music as demanding and immersive as this can fill a venue the size of Cirkus. He plays there in February.
