“The heart is the organ of desire”: so goes the line that opens Norwegian musician Farao, aka Kari Jahnsen’s, new album Puro-O, which came out late last year. That line works well as a postcard from the album’s world – its’s a journey through relationships, both of the present and the future, delivered with scientist’s clinical, dissectional approach and an artist’s flair. She pairs that with sparkling, bejewelled pop music, fuelled by her love of Soviet-era synths and harp. She plays Bar Brooklyn in February.
