Chromatics’ long-awaiting new album Dear Tommy has almost achieved mythical status at this point. Originally announced way back in 2014, the first singles came out in 2015, and then everything disappeared into the ether. Eventually, the story came out – after a near-death experience, band mastermind Johnny Jewel destroyed all existing versions of the record, including thousands of already-printed vinyls and CDs, and decided to re-record the whole thing. We’re a couple of singles into the re-birth of Dear Tommy now, but who knows when the thing is actually coming out – but there’s the smallest, smallest chance it might be by the time they play Stockholm in October.
