Yoga is something that it supposed to be good for you. Beer is something that is supposed to be bad for you. Therefore, you would think that they’re two things that don’t mix very well. The concept of Beer Yoga is set to challenge that assumption. First started in Berlin, which as ever continues to be the world’s petri dish/ experimental testing ground for neo-hipster activities, it’s become popular the world over as a more relaxed way to have a yoga workout: i.e. with a beer in your hand.
Now Carlsberg and the yoga studio Urban OM are bringing it to Stockholm. They’ve devised a yoga exercise with non-alcoholic beer, to make it extra healthy. “Beer Yoga is a exciting way to explore the traditional elements of yoga. The workout we have developed is unique for Carlsberg Beer Yoga and the format is well-suited to both experienced practitioners and new aspiring yoga fans who are testing the format for the first time” says Neo Moreton, an instructor at Urban OM. The classes take advantage of the summer with a rooftop location, and run between Jun 30 and Jul 14. A class costs 250kr, which includes beer and equipment.
