Can you feel the Burger Love?
It’s no secret that Stockholm has had a pretty big obsession with burgers in recent years. After the inception of Flippin’ Burgers and tons of new street vendors adding to the burger mix, we’re a bit spoiled for choice. But alas, the options grow larger, and of course to our tummies’ delight!
Bar Burger Café has just found itself in the scenic area of Kungsträdgården within a glass building boasting indoor and outdoor seating – so no matter where you sit you can enjoy the view. The new eatery is a creation of restaurateur Peter Nordin who is also behind the recently-reopened Weinercafeet. The food is both American and French-inspired so besides the obvious selection of burgers the café will also offer other things such as mussels and salads – now even your non-burger loving friends can tag along! To top it off, there will also be a focus on great crafted beer (in cooperation with the new Carnegiebryggeriet) and whiskey. Talk about covering all the bases.
We got the chance to indulge in some of the café’s treats such as their spinach oysters, alcoholic based milkshakes and of course a burger! The burger was very yummy, topped with delicious caramelized onions that gave the burger the right amount of pizzaz, paired with some skinny fries that mimic fast food American fries, cooked gourmet-style. It’s hard to say whether they’ve really the best burgers in Stockholm. I would argue no, but that’s only because the competition has become so fierce – the burger was delicious nonetheless. We ended with an original and lighter re-make of the American-styled cheesecake, which we were thankful for with bathing suit season creeping up!
Don’t have time for a meal? Bar Burger has also created an ice-cream stand. Kungsträdgården on a hot summer day with its’ greenery, flowers and beautifully centered fountain – what could be better than a cone of some delicious ice-cream? Not much.
