“Walking art” is a shoe exhibition by Norwegian shoemaker and artist Elisabeth Thorsen.

For this exhibition Elisabeth was inspired by typical materials used for creating art . Materials such as canvas, paint, pencils & chalk has been incorporated into the shoes. Elisabeth makes shoes as pieces of art not merely functional footwear, she wants the shoes to be an aesthetic expression pleasing to the eyes as well as challenging to fully grasp.

Her previous work has been shown at galleries in Wien, Krakow, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Oslo & Kuwait. She has also collaborated with other artists.

Besides creating shoes, Elisabeth is creating music and doing performances with her projects: Poodles Caroli & Elak Bingo, she is also a member of the Norwegian indie bands Remington super 60 & Musique Le Pop. Since 2012 she has been a part of the Norwegian art collective “Art Militia”.

“Walking art” will premiere at Larry’s Corner Grindsgatan 35 this Saturday 🙂

12-17.
