Ji Nilsson is nothing if not thematically consistent. The notoriously blue-haired singer and producer released an EP called Blue Is The Saddest Colour late in 2015, and is now back with a brand new single entitled, unsurprisingly, ‘Make Me Blu’

‘Make Me Blu’ is a collab with producer WoodzSTHLM, who Nilsson last worked with on a re-imagining of her EP track ‘Nothing’. It’s a summery pop song, its perky synths and peppy rhythm juxtaposed against Nilsson’s melancholic lyrics (as you can imagine with a song called ‘Make Me Blu’, it’s not exactly a happy song). Simultaneous misery and happiness is what great pop is all about, and there’s no real excuse not to play this relentlessly for the rest of the summer.
