Magasin 3 opens the season with a colorful and surreal exhibition by Mika Rottenberg called Sneeze to Squeeze.
It’s the first time Rottenberg’s work will be shown as a solo collection in Stockholm. Her imaginative video installations are larger than life.
Rottenberg often depicts women with strong physical features such as extreme height, weight or muscularity. The flower-sniffing woman in Dough, for example, is 6ft 4, 600-pound-plus female pro-wrestler, Queen Raqui. A lot of the subjects are laborers and are depicted producing goods such as maraschino cherries and make-up.
The exhibition runs until June 2, 2013.
