The idea is this: there’s a loose plot\, the drama between the symbol characters the tiger and the swan\, which acts as narrative that holds together a journey through the band’s songs (both famous\, less well-known\, and completely new) and through three distinct parts\, Öknen\, Skogen and Staden (the desert\, the forest and the city). DESCRIPTION:Alexandra Kollontai was one of the extraordinary figures who existed in the heat of the Russian Revolution\, graduating from revolutionary to member of the Soviet government and was even the Soviet ambassador to Sweden for a while. She was also a prominent feminist writer and proponent of new ideas of the family and free love. She wrote a novel about love during the Russian Revolution in 1923\, and that novel\, Red Love\, is the inspiration for this exhibition of the same name. Nearly 700 million Spotify streams and 600 million  YouTube views on that song alone later\, Lipa is now an established star in the pop stratosphere. She was booked in for a Stockholm show last year but had to cancel and move it to April\, and in in the time passed she’s only gotten bigger. In addition to their usual late summer festival at Eriksdalbadet and mid-summer minifestival at Gälarparken\, they’ve now announced that they’re hosting a one-day festival at Färgfabriken in March. The festival will feature two stages\, which has given them the opportunity to pack the line-up with some of the best indie bands around. At the top of the bill are Hurula and artpop star Sibille Attar\, newly signed to PNKSLM. Then there’s Gothenburg rock duo Pale Honey\, scrappy indie stars Holy Now\, high-octane rock-pop trio VERO and murky night-pop gang Brödet. DESCRIPTION:Fria Fotografers Filial was initially born at Kulturhuset in 2016 after an idea by their then Art/ Design and Fashion head Karina Ericsson Wärn: “In the 1980s I ran Gauss Fotografiskt Galleri together with some friends. We showed exhibitions with photographers who are now unbelievably big names\, but we were most of all interested in strong stories\, regardless of who was behind the camera. It was to give everyone a chance that we launched Fria fotografers filial\, an exhibition without barriers\, that we want to be open for all. One can see it as a democracy project”. DESCRIPTION:What became of your university projects? I had a radio show that Peter\, Bjorn and John followed on Twitter for a day\, but I don’t think that really counts as a concrete achievement. Dream Wife\, on the other hand\, did much better with theirs. The band started out as a project at art school\, to create a facsimile of what a band might be. When pretending to be a band made them realise they were actually quite good at it\, the project crossed over into reality. Their self-titled debut album arrived this January\, and is packed with needling\, aggressive punk rock and swooping art pop. DESCRIPTION:Wolf Alice are a tribute to giving a band time to grow. When they broke through in 2013\, they clearly had talent\, but occasionally could sound a bit flimsy\, not quite sure what kind of band they wanted to be. They took a couple of years though\, and by the time of their debut album My Love Is Cool in 2015 things had snapped into place.
