Karin
Founded in 1926, Dux (or Duxiana) are probably best known for their comfortable beds. But what is a bit of a well-kept secret within Swedish borders is that the manufacturer also produces some pretty striking furniture, many of their pieces having attained iconic status. The slightly odd-looking armchair Karin was designed by Bruno Mathsson in 1969 (so almost the 1970s), and is still in production. We prefer the vintage versions, that can be found in materials such as velvet and corduroy.

B-138
No longer in production, Swedish interior decorator and furniture designer Hans-Agne Jakobsson’s glare-free lighting fixtures are a major draw at auction houses and speciality vintage stores all over Sweden. Experimenting with a wide range of materials, including brass, his go-to choice of material, and silk fringe, he designed the B-line of lighting for Markaryd. His best-known design, however, is the ‘Laminated Pine Pendant’, made out of pine wood chips.

OD-11
The original Stig Carlsson OD-11 loudspeaker from 1974 is making a comeback, a little more than 40 years after it launched. The original sound system changed the whole industry back in its time, resulting in the replacement of hundreds of thousands of speakers in homes all over Sweden. Re-engineered by young Swedish tech brand Teenage Engineering, the new version includes an analogue 100-watt amplifier, wireless beam-forming technology and a computer, all within its walnut casing.
